Cabinet Construction
Our kitchen cabinets feature all wood construction cabinet boxes, face frames, doors and drawer fronts. These are identical to the materials used in expensive custom cabinetry.
Other cabinets, typically those found at the large chain stores, are produced from various wood products, including particle board, and MDF (medium density fiber).
Particle board and MDF cabinets can be slightly less expensive than ours, but in the long run, cabinets constructed from cheap materials will end up costing you more because they won't stand the test of time. After all, Particleboard and MDF are produced from shredded wood and paper. Within a year, they are prone to sagging and swelling, especially when exposed to moisture. Additionally, both materials tend to break or split, and screws have a tendency to shred right through them.
